Throughout her healthcare career (1997 to present), clinical practice has remained the foundation of Lianne Aquilina’s professional activities.
Although her portfolio includes research, education, authorship, governance, policy engagement, and professional leadership, these activities have not developed separately from clinical work. Instead, they have arisen directly from the realities of patient care, the questions encountered in practice, and a desire to continually enhance clinical understanding, professional standards, and healthcare outcomes.
Much of Lianne’s academic, educational, and research work has stemmed from observations in clinical settings, complex patient cases, and the need to advance knowledge, practice, and current research into meaningful healthcare solutions.
Her work is defined by a mutual relationship between practice and scholarship.

Lianne Aquilina established Aquilia Acupuncture in 2005 and has spent more than two decades developing and delivering successful patient-centred healthcare within private practice.
Originally founded in Stamford, Lincolnshire, the practice expanded to include a second clinic in Baldock, Hertfordshire, to meet growing demand for specialist integrative healthcare services.

The service provides bespoke herbal medicine consultations and formulations tailored to the individual following a comprehensive clinical assessment and ongoing review for a range of healthcare concerns that negatively impact a woman’s quality of life.
